On the first day of your 3-day Merzouga desert tour, we will pick you up from the airport and head south to the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Your evening will include a delicious dinner, and you will spend the night in a desert camp in Merzouga, surrounded by the enchanting desert atmosphere.
On the second day of your Errachidia to Merzouga desert tour, we will start with a delicious breakfast at your desert camp, followed by a camel trek back to Merzouga village. Afterwards, we will embark on a day of exploring the Merzouga desert, cruising through the dunes in a 4×4 vehicle. During the trip, we will have the opportunity to visit a nomadic family near the borders of Morocco and Algeria. After that, we will head to the village of dark-skinned people, originally from Sudan, where you will be able to listen to Gnaoua music and experience their unique lifestyle. In the evening, we will return to Merzouga, where we will be welcomed by a skilled camel guide and friendly camels who will take us on a lovely half-hour ride through the fascinating dunes of Merzouga. We will spend the night in a desert camp under a starry sky.
Today you should wake up early to enjoy the stunning sunrise in the heart of the desert. After breakfast, you will ride your camel back to Merzouga, where your driver will be waiting for you. We will head to Rissani, which used to be the capital of Tafilalet. It is still an important place for trade and has a large market that is busy on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Then, we will pass through palm groves in Touroug and Tinjdad to reach the Todra Gorges. These are huge gorges with red walls carved by the Todra River. Climbers really like these gorges, and you can explore them to enjoy the amazing views. We will pause for lunch and take photos at prominent locations.
